Curtains also known as a window treatment, drapes or drapery are a piece of cloth intended to block or obscure light or add a dramatic effect to a room.  Curtains are often hung on the inside of a room’s window to block or reduce the travel of light.  Curtains come in a variety of shapes, materials, sizes, colors and patterns.  Often curtains and valances match bedding such as quilts, duvet comforter covers, bed skirts and sheets. 

Curtains are a form of window treatment, and complete the overall appearance of the house or room. Window treatment helps control the ambiance and flow of natural light into the room.
